"My prostate cancer was cured by surgery and a technique called radical prostatectomy. When this was recommended, I didn't even think about treatment options, I only wanted one thing: to get better. I am better and I don't have any ill-effects. I was operated on by an excellent surgeon in a hospital with a superb reputation. Now, however, I compare my situation with that of a friend who had the same illness and who was treated using Ablatherm HIFU. He was also cured, but I will never be able to talk about my treatment with as much enthusiasm as he does about his. Personally, I have had some difficult times, while his treatment seemed a mere formality. I recommend that you get as much information as possible. Ask around, and find out what other people have gone through. Make up your own mind, don't be disheartened and keep a cool head.
I was treated with radiation four years ago. My treatment ended in failure. What's more, I was left to deal with some very painful side effects and I was constrained in having to receive treatment every day for six weeks. When we learned that the treatment had failed and I was told I had no other options after radiotherapy, my world collapsed around me. However, I was given knew hope when I learned that Ablatherm HIFU was a therapeutic method that can treat radiotherapy failures. My advice is this: If your treatment has failed, don’t think that you have been given a life sentence. Now, there is a solution.
I had heard about Ablatherm HIFU and I was convinced that it was what I needed. However, my urologist, who also practices this technique, advised me against this treatment as I was too young and didn't meet the criteria recommended by the scientific community. I thought differently. I took the responsibility upon myself and decided to follow the Ablatherm HIFU treatment anyway. My urologist respected my choice. And now I don't regret a thing. Be sure to ask yourself what you really want from your treatment and get as much information as possible. At the end of the day, only you can make the final decision regarding how you want to treat your cancer".
